Manny Pacquiao: Pacman Will Knock out Juan Manuel Marquez in Third Bout
The legend that is Manny Pacquiao will step back into the ring on Nov. 12, and I'm predicting a late round knock out for Pacman in his third fight against Juan Manuel Marquez.
The two fought to a draw in 2004 and Pacquiao won by split decision in 2008.
But this time Pacquiao seems determined to crush Marquez. The 32-year-old Filipino is training harder than ever before, trying to get as big as possible before the fight.
His conditioning coach Alex Ariza is saying that Pacquiao wants to be the same size he was when he beat Miguel Cotto in 2009—his last knockout.
"But Cotto was the equivalent of linebacker and Marquez is a free safety," Ariza said.
"I think he just wants to kill Marquez."
This approach by Pacquiao should be terrifying for Marquez. A motivated Pacquiao is a scary Pacquiao and he seems hell-bent on ending this fight before the final round.
Pacquiao has a personal vendetta against Marquez, who wore t-shirts around the Philippines that said he got ripped off in the second fight. He has been begging for a third bout ever since.
After their split decision in the second fight, Pacquiao has been on an absolute rampage. He knocked out legendary fighters Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Cotto in consecutive fights.
Then he dominated Joshua Clottey, Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley, registering unanimous decisions against all three.
Now, Marquez finally gets his wish. However, I don't think he realizes what he has coming.
Pacquiao is in the best shape of his life, and perhaps more importantly, he is pissed.
Just by looking at his training regiment, it's easy to see that Pacquiao is out for blood. He has had to put up with Marquez's constant complaining for three years, while simultaneously dealing with the Floyd Mayweather headache.
Pacquiao will look to unload some accumulated stress when he steps into the ring on Nov. 12. Unfortunately for Marquez, he's going to be on the receiving end of Pacquio's rage.
I'm predicting a ninth-round knockout for Pacquiao.
