Fantasy Football Week 7: Tony Romo and More Must-Start QBs

Luis BatlleOct 23, 2011

Week 7 of the NFL season features a plethora of positive match-ups for some of the better quarterbacks in the league.

The later games today as well as the Monday and Sunday night match-ups for QBs feature some favorable match-ups that fantasy owners must consider in adjusting their lineups.

Here are Tony Romo and the three must-start QBs this week in the NFL.

No. 3: Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys

Tony Romo and his Dallas Cowboys take on the winless St. Louis Rams at home, a matchup that heavily favors "America's team."

With Rams quarterback Sam Bradford is out with a high left ankle sprain and is currently wearing a walking boot, as his status for the next several weeks is indeed in question. With arguably as poor an offense as there is in the league with Bradford in the lineup, expect all the worse with him being sidelined to injury this week.

The Cowboys are the No. 4 ranked passing offense in the NFL, and are hoping that a tough defense and early scoring on offense will put these Rams away quickly and early in the game. Expect a big day for Romo against a mediocre pass defense at best.

No. 2: Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens go up against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7 in what should be quite the lopsided Monday night game.

The Jaguars feature one of the worst offenses in the league, with the worst passing offense in the entire NFL. This means there will be plenty of opportunities for Flacco and the Ravens offense to stay on the field and put up points.

Note to fantasy owners: Flacco has thrown for at least 300 yards in two of his last three games.

No. 1: Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

With players like New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers, and Detroit Lions promising talent Matthew Stafford taking over the headlines, Drew Brees has put up big numbers under the radar this season.

Posting a jaw-dropping 2,152 yards already on the season, Brees ranks No. 2 in the league just behind Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. His 13 touchdowns are fourth in the league.

Against arguably the worst team in the NFL in the Indianapolis Colts, expect Brees to have a field day with the Colts defense. With the exception of the defensive line, the team's defense is average at best. With the No. 18 pass defense and No. 30 rushing defense, Brees should put up monster numbers in Week 7.
