NFL Predictions Week 7: Steven Jackson Will Make Rams-Cowboys Game Close

Most people could try and argue that Steven Jackson is an elite running back in the NFL, and when he's healthy that argument would tender a lot of thought.

This season, like in those past, he's struggled with shedding the injury bug.

This week, the Rams visit the Dallas Cowboys who currently sit at 2-3 and are third in the NFC East.

The Rams themselves have been one of the biggest disappointments of the early NFL season. Most experts predicted them to finish atop the NFC West with young stars like Sam Bradford and of course, Jackson.

However, the Rams haven't won a game, yet, this season and the Cowboys are heavy favorites to win in Dallas this week.

Steven Jackson might have something else to say about that.

On the season, S-Jax has only totaled 220 yards and one touchdown on the season but take that with a grain of salt. As I mentioned earlier, Jackson has struggled with injury and the Rams have already had their bye week.

Jackson is ready to jump back into the conversation of the elite. A big game against Dallas will do just that. 

As of right now the Cowboys boast the NFL's best run defense, only allowing 69.6 yards per game.

So what makes it possible for Jackson to have success against the 'Boys? Especially, considering that Sam Bradford won't be suiting up.

Well, just look at what Jackson was able to do against the Packers, the then-second best rushing defense. He had 96 yards on only 18 carries.

It's possible for him to have success against a stout defense once again.

It's clear that with Bradford out that the running game is going to be the go-to for the Rams offense, but with new target Brandon Lloyd in town, I really like Jackson to break out.

He'll be the workhorse, and while the Rams won't come out victorious, Jackson will keep his squad closer than most expect.
