Falcons vs. Lions: Pre-Game Altercation Is Prelude to Epic NFC Clash

As if the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions needed anymore fuel for their meeting, there was an altercation this morning that soured whatever good wishes these teams had for each other.

After a week that saw the Lions in a dogfight that they lost and their head coach get disrespected, there is a real swagger for the team.

The Falcons on the other hand have been backed into a corner early in the season with some terrible loses, and this could be the perfect storm of angry teams that causes a war on the field.

NFL Insider for CBS Sports Mike Freeman is reporting about the incident on twitter:

There is no doubt that the Atlanta Falcons will try to run on the Lions mediocre run defense, and all of that contact will have players like Ndamukong Suh and Kyle Vanden Bosch fighting mad.

Add the battle Atlanta will wage on Calvin Johnson and the Detroit offense to the mix and this NFC battle will get very heated.

While Week 7 isn’t the best week for must-watch games, there is at least one taking place in Detroit!
