Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 7: Jackie Battle and 5 Last-Minute Adds

Ryan AlfieriOct 23, 2011

Despite all of the other options the Chiefs have in place of the injured Jamaal Charles, Jackie Battle has emerged as the lead back for the Chiefs. Battle is not a flashy guy, but he'll get a ton of carries in an already run-heavy offense and will be a great add in all formats. It's not often that you can get yourself a starting running back this late in the season.

Don't expect Battle to rack up a ton of numbers, but if you need to get through an injury or a bye week, Battle is a great pick-up.

Let's take a look at other last-minute adds that can get you a win this week.

Johnothan Stewart

1 of 5

With DeAngelo Williams being nothing short of a disappointment this season, expect Stewart to get more and more carries as the season goes on. Expect the Panthers to run a bit more against a solid Redskins defense to protect Newton from throwing too many balls up for grabs.

Earnest Graham

2 of 5

Graham does face a good run defense this week in the Bears, but if a starting running back is available, it's always a good idea to pick him up and see what happens.

If anything, he can be a guy you can trade away to a fool who thinks he is the regular starter for the Bucs, even though he is just a fill-in until LeGarrette Blount gets back from his injury.

Carson Palmer

3 of 5

Whether or not Carson starts this week is almost irrelevant. Add Carson simply because of his upside. Will going to the Raiders revive his career?

If he can look anything like he did back in 2005, Palmer could be your new quarterback or even serve as trade ammunition.

Greg Little

4 of 5

Little looks like the real deal and was named the starter going into the bye week. If you need a receiver to get you through this week, get Greg Little. It also helps that he will be working against a bad Seattle secondary.

Jake Ballard

5 of 5

The Giants came into the season without a proven answer at tight end, but Ballard has shocked everyone in New York so far. He's not going to light the world on fire with speed and athleticism, but he is going to get a fair number of targets—especially in the red zone.
