BCS Rankings: Auburn Tigers and Teams That Will Fall Out of Rankings
This week we saw a fair amount of Top 25 teams suffer losses that nobody saw coming.
A part of the exciting journey in the college football world is that every game matters.
Those losses will have a huge impact on the rest of the season for all of those teams.
It will even be enough to bump some out of the Top 25.
Here are three teams that will fall from the rankings following this week.
Auburn Tigers
There were very few people that believed that the Auburn Tigers would be able to pull off an upset win this weekend against the top-ranked LSU Tigers.
However, many thought that if Auburn could keep the game close they would be able to salvage a BCS ranking at the bottom of the Top 25.
They weren't able to make it close.
LSU absolutely crushed Auburn today at a score of 45-10.
At a 5-3 record, there will be no place for Auburn in the top 25.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
A few weeks ago Georgia Tech was being discussed as a possible dark horse to make a National Championship run with their option offense.
They were 6-0 at the time.
Now they are 6-2 after dropping two straight to unranked ACC opponents.
Today's 24-7 loss to Miami will be enough to drop Georgia Tech out of the rankings.
They are to play any ranked opponent and are now 6-2. There are too many teams looking better than the Yellow Jackets right now.
Washington Huskies
The Huskies time in the Top 25 will be short lived but not forgotten.
This is a Washington team that is still a talented team, but hasn't proved enough to take the spot over some of the teams who have similar records.
After the loss to Andrew Luck and Stanford the Huskies are looking at a 5-2 record.
This is good, but the two losses came to ranked opponents while the five wins came against much lesser teams.
With teams like Arizona State and Georgia banging on the door, there is no way Washington will hold on to that final spot.
