Week 7 Fantasy Football Projections: Calvin Johnson Will Dominate vs. Falcons

Austin GreenJun 3, 2018

Calvin Johnson is unquestionably the NFL's top receiver and he will continue his reign of dominance on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

The man they call Megatron has just been unbelievable this year.

The 6-foot-5, 235 pound wide receiver is fifth in the league in catches (36), fifth in yards (564) and first in touchdowns (9).

Simply put, Johnson has been unstoppable thus far.

He has also yet to have what could be characterized as a "bad" game. He had just three catches and 29 yards against Kansas City...but two of those catches were touchdowns. Last week he failed to score a touchdown for the first time all season...but he still had 113 yards.

Johnson is the kind of receiver that opposing quarterback's dream about having on their team.

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is exceptionally talented, but his job is made so much easier by the presence of Johnson. At times, literally all he has to do is throw the ball up high and let Johnson do the rest (exhibit A being this ridiculous touchdown catch over triple coverage).

Johnson's "Megatron" nickname is perfect. The dude is just a machine, plain and simple.

Atlanta cornerbacks Dunta Robinson and Brent Grimes have probably been having nightmares about Johnson all week and I can't blame them one bit.

The Falcons pass defense has been shredded regularly this season, allowing 283.3 passing yards per game (27th) and nine touchdowns. And of course, they haven't faced a weapon of Johnson's caliber yet.

If you are a fantasy owner with Johnson on your team, rejoice yet again. This guy will probably carry you to a league title.

I'm expecting 120 yards and two scores from Johnson in Week 7.
