NFL Picks Week 7: Will Colts, Dolphins or Rams Score First Win of Season?

Mick AkersOct 22, 2011

Six weeks into the NFL season there are three winless teams left in the NFL. Those teams are the Miami Dolphins, St. Louis Rams and Indianapolis Colts.

Here are the chances for these three winless teams to finally break through and get their first win of the 2011 NFL season.

St. Louis Rams

The St. Louis Rams are down their starting quarterback in Sam Bradford and are missing their top wideout in Danny Amendola, among other injuries, and will travel to Dallas on Sunday to take on the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys will dominate the Rams on both sides of the ball and will give them no chance to get their first win of the 2011 season

Prediction: Rams lose.

Indianapolis Colts

The Peyton Manning-less Indianapolis Colts have jumped out to a 0-6 record and will face one of the best teams in the NFL, the New Orleans Saints in New Orleans.

Don't expect much out of current Colts quarterback Curtis Painter against the Saints, since he hasn't showed too much promise so far. The Saints have a decent enough pass defense to stop him from getting any kind of good numbers going.

Drew Brees and the Saints' offense will make this a one-sided affair and hand the Colts their seventh loss in a row.

Prediction: Colts lose.

Miami Dolphins

Out of all the winless teams, the Miami Dolphins have the best shot at getting a win this week because they play the Denver Broncos and their newly appointed starting quarterback Tim Tebow.

The Dolphins have shown that their defense is solid, not letting the New York Jets get much going in their matchup this past Monday night. They'll give Tebow and company fits when they are on offense.

I think if the Dolphins can get anything at all going on offense against the Broncos and their mediocre defense, then the Dolphins will have a big opportunity to get their first win of 2011.

Prediction: Dolphins win. Finally!
