NFL Picks Week 7: Only San Diego Chargers Will Get Boost from Bye Week

Six teams are coming off of a Week 6 bye this weekend. The Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans, Kansas City Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks and San Diego Chargers all got an extra week to prepare for their Week 7 opponents.

With the exception of the Cardinals and Chiefs, all are in games they can win. Still, only the Chargers will actually break through and win.

San Diego is in something of an odd week. They have to travel across the country to play the Jets. Normally, teams in the Pacific Time Zone don't do too well in games that starts at 10 a.m. in the west.

But this week is a little different.

The Chargers are coming off of a bye and the Jets are in a short week as they played on Monday Night Football. Now, Monday night was also a home game for the Jets, so no travel was required. Still, that's a short week of practice that they will have to deal with.

While they haven't looked impressive in doing so, the Chargers have earned a 4-1 record this season. The Jets have also been less than impressive, but sit at 3-3.

Even at home, I just can't see them winning this game. Their offense is basically nonexistent. Their defense is solid, but it won't be anywhere near good enough against an offense like San Diego's.

The Jets' offense keeps that defense on the field for far too long. They just don't move the ball well enough. Also, they turn the ball over far too much for a team that does not have a particularly aggressive offense.

Their defense will be placed in tough spots against a Philip Rivers-led offense.

The Jets are certainly capable of winning this game, but they have not given anyone a reason to be confident in their performance.

I don't know if I see a lot of playoff success on the horizon for either of these two teams, but even in a road game on the other part of the country, the Chargers will drop the Jets.
