NFL Predictions Week 7: Aaron Rodgers and QBs That Will Put Up Astounding Stats

Andrew KulhaOct 22, 2011

It wouldn't be a stretch to say that the 2011 NFL season has been the year of the quarterback, especially with guys like Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and even Ryan Fitzpatrick lighting up the league.

There have been some incredible numbers put up from the quarterback position in 2011, but I don't think we have seen the best just yet.

Week 7 is jam-packed with a couple lopsided games that feature great teams going against extremely weak teams.

There are no guarantees in the NFL, but if there ever was a string of games that I could almost guarantee you would be blowouts, they would happen this week.

What that means for some of our favorite quarterbacks is that they may be looking at a career day, which would say a lot considering some of the incredible stats that these stars have put up in the past.

Here are a few quarterbacks who look destined for career statistical days in Week 7:

Aaron Rodgers, Packers

Rodgers is on his way to a career year, let alone a career week. He seems to be the early favorite for the 2011 NFL MVP, and the Packers seem to be the early favorite to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

This week, Rodgers is leading the Pack over to Minnesota to play the Vikings, who have rookie Christian Ponder starting under center for the first time in his career.

I see no way the Vikings can stick with Rodgers, especially with a rookie at quarterback. Rodgers may have the chance to put up some incredible numbers, that is, if they don't pull him in the second half with a big lead.

It's scary to think that Drew Brees can have yet another career day, because those numbers would be out of this world. He's got the Payton Manning-less Indianapolis Colts coming into town this week, and I don't see them improving on their 0-6 record in this game.

The Colts can't stop anybody, so they certainly won't be able to stop Brees.

Cam Newton, Panthers

Newton has put up some incredible and record-breaking numbers as a rookie. The problem is the fact that he's only led his Panthers team to one win.

He's squaring off with a very beatable Washington Redskins team this week, and I think he's finally going to be able to put up those big numbers and get a win for his team.

If Newton works on his accuracy, he could be a great quarterback. Expect him to have a great game.
