Denver Broncos vs. Miami Dolphins: Live Score, Highlights and Analysis

David AllisonOct 22, 2011

Normally a matchup between a 1-4 team and 0-5 team would be considered must-flee TV.

The game instantly became interesting the moment that Tim Tebow was officially anointed as the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos.

Broncos coach John Fox saw enough in a furious fourth-quarter come-back (that just fell short) against the San Diego Chargers to promote Tebow over the thoroughly mediocre Kyle Orton. Now Tebow will get his chance to show what he can do as a starting quarterback.

He has his doubters. Experts have said that his style of play won't translate to the NFL. They've knocked his throwing motion and his pocket presence. But the fact is that the Broncos need to find out what they have in the 2010 first round pick.

If Tebow can show that he can make key throws, move the offense with his legs and protect the football, he could just be the long-term answer at QB that the Broncos have been looking for since John Elway retired.

On the other side, the Miami Dolphins are floundering. Their offense couldn't make much of gift wrapped points from the New York Jets last week. They turned the ball over way to often and then on defense they couldn't stop a weak Jets offense from moving the football in crucial situation.

The Dolphins are a bad team. But even bad teams are prideful, and having a ceremony at halftime to honor Tim Tebow's 2008 Florida Gators National Championship team may give Dolphins players extra motivation to play well.

This game in Miami won't be ordinary due to the extreme enthusiasm and controversy embodied in Tim Tebow. No matter what happens with Tebow and the wild expectations for his NFL game, be sure to check in here for updates and analysis as the game progresses.
