Pacquiao Marquez 24/7: Manny Pacquiao's Training Habits Will Terrify Marquez
While the third installment of the fights between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez is being heralded as the best of the bunch, this fight will be more one-sided than anyone has anticipated.
Pacquiao is training harder than he usually trains for a fight and there is a distinct chance that this fight is not only a message to Marquez and the doubters, but to Floyd Mayweather himself.
“Slow him down, Freddie,” legendary fight promoter Bob Arum told Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach during a recent training session.
There have been concerns around the boxing world about the intensity of Pacman’s workout regiment, but the only person who should be worried about how hard the Welterweight Champion is boxing should be Marquez.
Pacquiao told Crunch Sports about the intensity of his training and how he plans to step it up:
"I'm focusing on my strength and speed. They're watching my body, so I don't become too big. I control my training, step by step, until the time comes to fight. I want to be gradual in my training.
"
There is no such thing as training too hard for Manny Pacquiao and the intensity of his training shows that he is taking this fight more serious than past bouts.
That should strike fear in the heart of Marquez alone.
Even before the official press conference for the fight, Pacman had already started a running program to start the cardio process, something unprecedented in the fight game.
With the already ridiculous workout regiment on top of Pacquiao's increased workload, the odds of this fight going the distance are as low as they could possibly be for Marquez.
