LSU Football Uniforms: Tigers Will Roll in New Nike Pro Combat Threads

LSU has certainly had a difficult week, but tonight the focus is going to be on the Auburn Tigers, the defending national champions who will be making a trip to Death Valley.

Fortunately, the Bayou Bengals will be unveiling some new-look uniforms in this one. That and that alone, will put them over the top against the defending champions.

Okay, that's a slight over exaggeration. Despite the suspensions detailed by Jim Kleinpeter of The Times Picayune, LSU is just a much better team than Auburn. As a matter of fact, as the No. 1 team in the initial BCS standings, the Tigers have a very good chance at winning it all this season.

The Tigers' defense has been top-notch this season. Statistically, Oregon and West Virginia had decent games against them, but even those were somewhat misleading. Even without that, Oregon and West Virginia are both strong offensive teams, and LSU still won both games convincingly.

Auburn has had some strong games this season. Still, they haven't faced a team of LSU's caliber. The closest team to LSU that they have faced was Arkansas, who beat them 38-14. The Arkansas defense is nowhere near as good as the one they will face against LSU.

I will say this about the new-look uniforms, they are cool. Normally, I can't stand that look, but LSU pulls it off. Those gold shoes are quite impressive. They remind me of a golden-shoed man who did pretty well for himself.

In all seriousness, LSU pulls this look off because they aren't dramatically altering the way they looked before. Other teams have unveiled these uniforms and were hardly recognizable. That's not the case with the Tigers.

LSU has had a rough week, but their new-look uniforms will give their faithful something good to talk about. When they take the field against the defending champs, they will have something else to discuss if they need to distract themselves from the game.

Lastly, that game against Alabama looks to be kind of important, doesn't it?
