NFL Predictions Week 7: Tim Tebow Will Shine While Leading Broncos to Big Win

Justin WeltonOct 22, 2011

Tim Tebow isn’t the greatest passer, he doesn’t have the greatest pocket presence and he doesn’t have the greatest arm in the NFL. However, just because his style is different doesn’t mean he can’t be a competitor at the quarterback position.

He may not have a great game under center, but his team will get the victory against the Miami Dolphins.

That’s the bottom line. Winners always shine brightest, and that’s what Tebow will be doing following his performance.

Cam Newton is putting up all-time great numbers for rookie quarterbacks, but he isn’t getting the wins needed in the NFL. That should come in time, when his team gets collectively better, but he is getting a lot of credit for numbers, not victories.

Tebow, with less starts than Newton, has a chance to do the polar opposite. He has a chance to post victories without posting the numbers Newton has.

Whether you hate him or love him, Tebow does possess one thing that we all could agree upon—energy. Teammates of Tebow feed off his consistent positive energy like he was a 15-year veteran. I don’t understand how he can garner that much respect without earning it in the NFL yet, but for some strange reason, he has.

As much as I prefer Tebow’s first start to come at home, playing in Miami, probably with several hundred or even thousand Tebow fans, will be good enough.

Playing in the state of Florida will bring Tebow back to his days with the University of Florida. He will throw for at least one touchdown and run for another in a narrow victory.

If the Broncos can salvage a victory, that’s all that should matter. However, I know people will be negative towards Tebow if he doesn’t have a great game.

Forget about that. What about winning the game?

If he wins the game, it should be only thing that matters. The NFL is about winning games. Tebow won games in college and could possibly win games at the next level.

He will finally get his chance in 2011 on Sunday. If anything, Tebow makes a game between a 1-4 and 0-5 team watchable.
