Fantasy Football Week 7: Jackie Battle and Best Sleepers to Pick Up

Michael MillOct 22, 2011

These are some of the most difficult weeks in the fantasy football world.

There are many top players at their positions sitting out for bye weeks, leaving huge voids to fill in many fantasy football rosters.

The key in these next few weeks are finding players who are in positions and matchups where they will succeed for just a single game.

Finding these sleepers during these weeks is typically the difference in a good and great fantasy year.

Here are three sleepers to grab this week.

QB Tim Tebow (Denver Broncos)

I know, it's almost funny to put Tebow on this list when you consider his typical box scores. However, Tebow manages to put up fantasy points thanks to his versatility.

Last week, he put up 18 points in standard leagues despite his below-average performance. Now he gets to play a full game against a Miami Dolphins team that is a joke.

Tebow will also do this in front of a Florida crowd that will likely be split in cheers.

QB Christian Ponder (Minnesota Vikings)

This one is a little risky since it will be Ponder's first-ever start at quarterback. He is probably going to make some mistakes.

At the same time, he is going to put up some numbers.

The Vikings are going to get down early against the Packers. There is no question about that.

Ponder is going to be throwing the ball a lot against a defense that is ranked 31st in the league in stopping the pass. This is only a move if you are desperate, but it's a chance that could pay off.

RB Jackie Battle (Kansas City Chiefs)

The Kansas City Chiefs have found their replacement for Jamaal Charles at running back.

Jackie Battle had 19 carries for 119 yards in Kansas City's win against Indianapolis before their bye week.

He will once again get the bulk of the carries against Oakland. The Raiders have lacked consistency in stopping the run, allowing 4.9 yards per carry.

Battle could have another 100-yard game this week.
