Fantasy Football Week 7: Adrian Peterson and 3 Stars That Will Let You Down
Even the most productive fantasy players can hit a roadblock against the wrong matchup. On Sunday, watch out for this trio of standouts who won’t perform up to their usual standards.
Adrian Peterson, Minnesota
As great a runner as Peterson is, he managed just 39 yards in last week’s blowout loss against the Bears. That doesn’t bode well for Peterson’s chances against a superior Green Bay run defense on Sunday.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
B.J. Raji and company have allowed the fourth-fewest rushing yards in the league, and Minnesota hasn’t shown much ability to open holes in a front that strong. In all likelihood, the Vikings will also fall behind quickly against Aaron Rodgers’ explosive offense, and playing catch-up tends to do unpleasant things to a running back’s numbers.
Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville
One of the most reliable runners in the league this season, Jones-Drew faces an intimidating matchup this week. Even on the road, the Ravens’ defense will be too much for Jones-Drew and the one-dimensional Jacksonville attack.
Baltimore has the league’s seventh-best pass defense, more than enough to keep Blaine Gabbert’s passing game from being a threat. That means the Ravens will be able to load up in the box against Jones-Drew. As tough a runner as MJD is, he won’t have any room to operate on Monday night.
Matt Schaub, Houston
The continuing story with Schaub, of course, has been the health of star wideout Andre Johnson. With Johnson projected to be out again this week, Schaub’s numbers will take a hit accordingly.
This week’s matchup does the Houston QB no favors, either. The Titans’ tough defense has been even tougher at home. Arian Foster won’t have an easy time creating opportunities for Schaub and the depleted receiving corps.
