Fantasy Football Week 7: Tim Tebow and 5 Players Who Are Must-Starts
This week of fantasy football brings some interesting matchups for individual players.
If your team needs a fill-in for a bye week, there are many players that could do the job. From solid week in, week out performers to one-time starters, Week 7 of fantasy football is going to have many high scorers.
Here are five players that are must-starts in fantasy play this week.
Tim Tebow
1 of 5Tim Tebow goes back to his college state in Florida to face the Miami Dolphins this week in his first start at quarterback on the season.
Many owners are shaky to start him because he is not much of a throwing quarterback and also that he is starting for the first time this season.
Throw the skepticism behind because Tebow is a good start this week especially due to the fact that he is facing the lackluster Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins are ranked 29th in the NFL in passing defense with 284 yards allowed a game and are giving opposing fantasy quarterbacks a red carpet to the end zone, surrendering 24 fantasy points per game.
Tim Tebow looks to have a big start this week for the Broncos, and his two-dimensional, run and pass game will keep fantasy owners happy to have started him.
Darren McFadden
2 of 5Darren McFadden and the Oakland Raiders head into Sunday equipped to play against the Kansas City Chiefs.
With no starting quarterback known right now, McFadden will play a vital part in the offense of the Raiders and is a must start in fantasy play this week.
The Chiefs are ranked 21st NFL in rushing defense, allowing 119.6 yards per game, and McFadden will feast on the less than average Chiefs run stoppers.
The combination of the lack of quarterback, skill of McFadden and terrible defense of the Chiefs all contribute into a very big fantasy day for McFadden, who has an uncanny ability to find open spaces in a defense.
Drew Brees
3 of 5It looks like nothing can stop Drew Brees in fantasy this season and this week is no different.
In what looked like a terrible performance by the Saints last week, Brees still threw for nearly 400 yards. This dimension of the team cannot be stopped.
The Saints face an Indianapolis Team that cannot find a way to win and lose week in and week out. Coming off a loss themselves, the Saints will not allow the Colts to win this week either.
Brees is projected to be the best fantasy quarterback this week, according to NFL.com.
Look for the Colts to watch hopelessly as Brees and the Saints high-powered offense light up the scoreboard and give Brees a more than solid game fantasy-wise.
Calvin Johnson
4 of 5Calvin Johnson has been nothing short of beastly this season, and fantasy owners have been grinning in every match up he faces.
This week he and the Lions face the Atlanta Falcons, who are ranked a lowly 27th in passing defense and are looking to find a way to answer the unanswerable question: how to stop No. 81?
Look for Johnson to rack up the yardage on the Falcons defense and add a score or two to his impressive season so far.
Johnson will benefit from the absence of Jahvid Best this weekend and the Lions will continue to let Matt Stafford air the ball out to his favorite target, Calvin Johnson.
This week Johnson is a must start because of his scorching hot start to the season and the fact that he plays a weak passing defense in the Falcons.
Tony Romo
5 of 5The roller coaster that is Tony Romo.
This season, Romo has shown fantasy owners the great production he can bring, but also the terrible mistakes he can commit.
This week he looks to show not only his team and the NFL, but fantasy owners that he is a point hoarder.
Romo will benefit because he is facing a terrible Rams team who lack motivation coming into the game with a win less record.
Romo will utilize his star-studded offensive cast in the passing game, especially with the absence of starting running back Felix Jones.
Look for Romo to have a gigantic game against the Rams to prove his worth for fantasy owners. The last thing that Romo needs is a poor performance, and he will do everything in his power to prevent that.
My advice: Start Romo. He will turn out some numbers for your team.
