NFL Picks Week 7: 3 Favorites That Will Win with Ease

Alex WelchOct 21, 2011

If you look at the schedule for NFL Week 7, you'll see three favorites that will have no trouble getting the job done. The Ravens, Packers and Cowboys can basically go ahead and add another win the their seasons.

Each team is predicted to win by at least eight points this week, and I don't really see any of their opponents getting closer than that.

These three take on the Rams, Vikings and Jaguars, three teams that have combined for a whopping 2-15 record in 2011. If I had to bet on these games, I'd take the favorites, hands down.

Green Bay at Minnesota

1 of 3

The Packers are undefeated through the first six weeks of the season, and that's not going to change this weekend. They'll take on their division rival Minnesota in a game that will probably be as lopsided as the Packers' last game against St. Louis.

The Vikings are starting rookie quarterback Christian Ponder his first NFL start on Sunday. Good luck is all I can say.

The Packers are by no means tough against the pass. They rank 31st in the league in passing yards allowed. But, they are allowing the fourth fewest rushing yards, and the Vikings are going to have to let Ponder take some shots after awhile.

Expect Green Bay to continue to roll in Week 7. Aaron Rodgers is on fire, and he's facing a sub-par secondary. I wish he was on my fantasy team this week.

Baltimore at Jacksonville

2 of 3

If you're a Jaguars fan, you might just want to want to avoid ESPN on Monday night. The Ravens head to Jacksonville on a three-game win streak, and that number will be at four pretty soon.

Baltimore is facing a Jags team that is currently on a five-game losing streak. The Jags kept it close last week against Pittsburgh, but don't expect the same results in Week 7.

Another rookie quarterback here, Blaine Gabbert will take on the Ravens' seventh-ranked pass defense. He only threw for 109 yards against the Steelers as Maurice Jones-Drew was able to rack up 96 yards on the ground, but the Ravens have been much tougher against the run this season.

Jacksonville is allowing 115 rushing yards per game so far. Expect Ray Rice to see a good amount of work on Monday night.

Dallas vs. St. Louis

3 of 3

The Rams have been just terrible this year. I was really looking forward to seeing what Sam Bradford could do after such a promising rookie year, but things have gone completely downhill.

To make matters worse, Bradford is dealing with a high ankle sprain that could keep him out of this game. He's said to be a game-time decision, but either way, it doesn't look good.

If he plays, who knows how effective he will be? If he sits, 34-year-old A.J. Feeley will get the nod at QB. Are you excited now, Rams fans?

The Cowboys shouldn't have any problems dominating this matchup. They have yielded the fewest rushing yards in the league in 2011, so Steven Jackson isn't going to be able to save their offense.

Also, with Miles Austin and Dez Bryant back in the lineup, Tony Romo has plenty of weapons to tear apart the St. Louis secondary.

Cowboys win this one in easy fashion.
