NFL Week 7 Predictions: New York Jets and Teams Doomed to Lose
If you lose in Week 7 of the NFL season, your season is not over. However, for these teams listed below, a loss this week will put their playoff hopes in serious danger.
These teams that lose this week will not only drop their record to below .500, but it will drop these teams further away from their division lead and any chance at getting a wild card berth.
The season will not be over, and their fans shouldn’t start looking towards the 2012 NFL draft, but at 3-4 on the season, struggling through seven games of the season, it’s going to take almost a miracle to string wins together for a playoff push.

New York Jets vs. San Diego Chargers
In three Jets wins this year, not one win has come against a team that has a winning record. Their wins have come against Dallas (2-3), Jacksonville (1-5) and Miami (0-5).
However, their three losses have come against teams that are in first place of their division or currently in a Wild Card spot, as they have loses have against Oakland (4-2), Baltimore (4-1) and New England (5-1).
This week against the 4-1 San Diego Chargers, who are in first place in the AFC West, the Jets will lose against a team that has better talent at almost every skill position. The only position that the Jets have an advantage at over the Chargers is at cornerback, with Revis over Jammer.
This week, the Chargers send the Jets to 3-4 on the season with a lot of questions of how they’re going to make the playoffs this year.
Chicago Bears vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bears are like the Jets in their wins and losses, but at least for the Bears, their first win on the season came against a team that doesn’t have a losing record in the Atlanta Falcons.
However, this week against the 4-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Bears will be unable to protect quarterback Jay Cutler, resulting in a lopsided win for Tampa in front of the crowd in England.
The loss will put the Bears to 3-4 and even further behind the Lions and Packers in the NFC North division.
Atlanta Falcons vs. Detroit Lions
As mentioned above, the Falcons are 3-3 on the season with a one-game difference separating them from the top two teams in the NFC South division. But against the Lions, who are very hot and motivated after last week’s fiasco at the end of the 49ers game, they are going to get blown out.
The Lions will be putting pressure on Matt Ryan all game, making this Falcons team one-dimensional.
The loss will put the Falcons to 3-4 and two games behind the Saints and Buccaneers—both of whom will win very easily this week.
So, these three teams that will get trounced this week, putting them well behind the teams they are trying to chase for the playoffs.
