Week 7 Fantasy Football Rankings: Jimmy Graham and More TEs That Will Dominate

Michael DixonOct 21, 2011

This is a big week for tight ends as it relates to byes. Think about it this way: With the Patriots and 49ers off, potential big point makers in Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, Vernon Davis and Delanie Walker are off. And that's just two sets of teammates.

Four other teams are also on a bye this week. Still, there are plenty of big men left who will grab lots of fantasy points this week.

Jimmy Graham

Graham has done something that's nearly impossible to do in New Orleans, given their wealth of receivers and tight ends—he's found a way to stand out.

When you earn Drew Brees' numbers, your numbers will be huge. There is really no way around that. Do you need more proof? In four consecutive games, he's gone for 100 yards in each of the last four games.

Frankly, it's hard to see the Colts defense doing much to stop that. The Saints will move the ball well against them and score plenty of points. Graham will have another great day.

Jermichael Finley

I will admit that despite their dismal record, the Vikings have done a good job containing opposing tight ends. Still, they haven't faced a team with Green Bay's offense. The closest two exceptions are the Chargers and Lions, whose tight ends both did well against Minnesota.

Finley is always a good bet for a lot of fantasy points. He's one of Aaron Rodgers' favorite targets and the tight end on one of the best offenses in the game. All signs point to a big game.

The Lions do need to establish a threat in the red zone that's not named Calvin Johnson. The last two weeks have gone a long way in doing that, as Pettigrew has caught a touchdown in each of the last two games for the Lions.

Against the Falcons, the Lions shouldn't have a huge problem moving the ball. While I do see Calvin Johnson finding the end zone again, I also see the Lions scoring more than 30 points in this one.

Pettigrew will have opportunities and will cash at least one in.
