Week 7 Fantasy Football Start Em Sit Em: Colt McCoy and 5 Fantasy Studs
To start or not to start, that is the ultimate fantasy question. Here are some borderline players that you can feel quite safe in placing in your fantasy lineup and clicking submit.
Fantasy sports are not for the faint of heart. Nothing is certain, just ask owners of Chris Johnson. Stars that are supposed to deliver some modicum of consistency sometimes fail to ever get out of the gate.
We have spotted five unlikely heroes for week 7 fantasy play, and you will be the beneficiaries of their favorable matchups.
Colt McCoy typifies the player we are looking at here. These are not your Aaron Rodgers or Tom Bradys of the world. When they play, you better be sure they are in your lineup.
As we know, there are not many sit em and leave players in the NFL. More often than not you are left to rip your hair out and kick the cat when a sure thing delivers five points on the day.
That leaves you sobbing as your opponent derides you all week for being a fool. Here is our attempt to keep you on the right side of weekly smack talk.
Another bye week and injures mean you have some plug and play duties to attend to. If you are in a deep league or have slim pickings on the waiver wire, these players will be the blessing you need for a win.
Thanks the football gods for delivering the best possible matchups to save you from the fantasy football doldrums.
Here is Colt McCoy and other fantasy middling men that will be heroes to their teams and yours in week 7. Enjoy.
Colt McCoy QB
1 of 5The one thing you will never find on the open market is consistency. Waiver wire players are marked by feast or famine games that you just can't trust.
Then comes Colt McCoy with his near 20-point games in Yahoo Leagues nearly every week. There is no reason to believe that he can't duplicate this effort on Sunday.
I am actually confident that he will have a breakout game against a Seattle Seahawks defense that is soft all over the place. McCoy will have no trouble reaching a 25 point effort. Not bad for a bargain player that can be had in most leagues.
Tim Tebow QB
2 of 5I bet there are thousands of Broncos fans that swooped up Tim Tebow in their drafts just to keep him as a good luck charm.
Their ridiculous loyalty is about to payoff, at least for one week. Tebow will go through a great deal of growing pains as any young quarterback will.
However, he has the perfect matchup against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. The Dolphins have little tape on Tebow and their defense is atrocious.
Miami players are playing with little passion at the moment giving the Broncos the rare glut of momentum in an away game. Feel free to start him in his first start of the season.
Marshawn Lynch RB
3 of 5The hit or miss fantasy game of Marshawn Lynch takes center stage against the Cleveland Browns. Seattle is struggling to find a solution to a failing passing game giving Lynch a chance to get a great deal of touches.
The Browns cover the pass very well leaving their Achilles heel in the run defense to be exploited. Lynch has a great matchup to garner him the best points he will have all season. A game of 17-19 points is not out of the question here.
Pierre Garcon WR
4 of 5You should forget all about his game last week against the Cincinnati Bengals. Garcon will once again get more love from Curtis Painter than Reggie Wayne.
As Painter gets more comfortable as the starting quarterback, Reggie Wayne will begin to get more incorporated into the mix. So don't feel left out if you drafted Wayne high as many did.
Painter just seems to have more chemistry with Garcon at the moment. Look for a return to 20-plus point games this weekend.
Josh Freeman QB
5 of 5It's that time again. The NFL will travel across the pond for a game that won't be that bad on the eyes. I think this will be a close game that the Bucs could steal.
If they do, it will be from the efforts of Josh Freeman who will piggyback on his effort against the New Orleans Saints.
The Chicago Bears defense has been shaky this season against the pass and the run. Freeman will have a fine international day giving you fantasy owners a reason to smile.
