Week 7 Fantasy Football Projections: Which Top WRs Will Struggle Most?

Chris TrapassoOct 20, 2011

Wide receivers have been having quite the year in fantasy football, thanks to the pass-happy NFL, which seemingly features a handful of 300 and 400-yard performances each week from quarterbacks.

Despite the new aerial explosion, there are still risky receiver plays each week—not all of them are reeling in seven catches for 100-plus yards in every game.

Which pass-catchers will struggle the most in Week 7?

Eric Decker

Decker was the waiver wire pick-up a few weeks back.

Now that Brandon Lloyd is a St. Louis Ram, Decker is unquestionably the go-to-guy in Denver, and I'm not sure he can produce in that role.

Yet.

Tim Tebow isn't afraid to throw the ball downfield, and even if Tebow posters are plastered all over your room, you know he isn't the best pure passer out there.

Against an above average Miami defense, Decker struggles this week with Tebow making more plays with his feet and in the short-to-intermediate passing game than anything else.

Santana Moss

I don't care who is behind center for the Redskins—neither quarterback is a fantasy difference maker.

Okay, so John Beck is a better option than Rex Grossman?

They're essentially the same guy to me, and although Moss should be the most targeted receiver against the Panthers, I don't envision him having a huge game even in a game that could be high scoring.

Moss even said in a recent Washington Post report that he is against Beck starting and thinks Rex Grossman deserves another shot.

All Oakland Raiders WRs

The Chiefs defense isn't intimidating anyone, but they do have some skilled cover corners in the secondary.

Eventually, Carson Palmer should get comfortable in the Raiders offense and will develop timing with the speedy wideouts.

Not this week.

KC is allowing nearly 120 yards on the ground per game and you better believe Hue Jackson will prominently feature Darren McFadden and Michael Bush.

Just give it time and sit these guys this week.
