NFL Week 7 Picks: Which Teams Will Fall Flat on the Road?

Week 7 will be crucial across the NFL, as several teams need wins to solidify themselves as contenders. Similarly, several teams looking to bounce back this week are facing tough road contests and will likely fall flat in their attempts to get back on track.

The Atlanta Falcons are off to a disappointing 3-3 start and will travel to Detroit to take on the Lions this weekend.

Detroit suffered its first loss of the season in Week 6, when they allowed the San Francisco 49ers to sneak back and snatch a 25-19 win. Make no mistake, the Falcons are going to be facing an angry Lions squad and that's bad news for Matt Ryan and company.

The key to Atlanta's season will rest with the offense. For some reason, the Falcons haven't got things going on that side of the ball. Ryan leads an offense that is currently ranked 20th in the league, averaging 336.2 yards per game. Meanwhile, the Lions rank 12th defensively (335 yards per game). 

Atlanta's fans shouldn't expect the team's turnaround to come this week, as the Lions have been playing very well and will have a home crowd rooting them to a win. 

Meanwhile, the Houston Texans started the season off with a ton of hopes and a 3-1 record. However, since then, they've lost defensive stud Mario Williams for the season and wide receiver Andre Johnson indefinitely with a hamstring injury.

Oh, and they've dropped two straight to fall to 3-3. 

The Texans badly need a bounce-back game, but this weekend on the road against the 3-2 Tennessee Titans probably won't be the place they find it. 

The Titans have been much better than expected and have won both of their home games this year. Houston is still stumbling and trying to find an identity after losing Williams and Johnson. Don't expect them to reassert themselves this weekend. The Titans will pull off a close home win while the Texans will continue to search for answers.
