2012 NFL Mock Draft: Where Are the Top Prospects Landing?

Chris TrapassoOct 20, 2011

The 2012 NFL draft class is headlined by Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, and it's nearly a lock that he will be the No. 1 overall selection.

After that, where do the top prospects land?

Which teams are perfect fits for the likes of Alshon Jeffery, Landry Jones, and Jonathan Martin?

Alshon Jeffery

Right now, the St. Louis Rams look to have a legitimate chance at finishing with the second worst record in the league.

If they do it'll certainly be unsettling and disappointing for a team that was a game away from the playoffs in 2010.

What they need is a dangerous threat at wide receiver that can prove to be the Calvin Johnson to Sam Bradford's Matt Stafford.

Alshon Jeffery is the guy.

He's got everything you'd want in a possession receiver and has the speed and jumping ability to make a difference in the vertical passing game as well.

Landry Jones

If the Dolphins continue their uninspiring play, they could be looking at a Top 5 selection in next year's draft.

After Luck, the next best pro quarterback prospect is easily Landry Jones from Oklahoma.

Is Miami ready to move on from Chad Henne?

They could be, and Matt Moore certainly doesn't represent the future in South Florida.

Jonathan Martin

Martin has been an outstanding pass protector for Andrew Luck and the Stanford Cardinal his entire career.

The Arizona Cardinals are currently 1-4 and have made a huge investment in former Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb.

Levi Brown is one of the worst starting left tackles in the league and could be released next year due to a big bump in his salary.

Martin is the ideal selection for an Arizona team that must get better on their offensive line if they want to consistently compete in the wide open NFC West.
