Fantasy Football Week 7 Rankings: Calvin Johnson and Top 3 WRs
When it comes to fantasy wide receivers, you need to stick with your big guns if you have them. While a good matchup can produce positive results, there are some players who manage to make the big play regardless of which team's defense is covering them.
Here are three who are set to make a major contribution to your fantasy team this week.
Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions (vs. Atlanta Falcons)

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Johnson never saw a red-zone target in last week's loss to the San Francisco 49ers, because he was double teamed every time the Lions came into scoring position. Despite the fact it was his first game of the year without a touchdown, he still managed to put up 113 yards.
It's clear that Johnson finds a way out of heavy coverage to pull down Matthew Stafford's passes. While the Falcons likely will have learned a few things from watching the way San Francisco was able to (kind of) contain him, they're not as good on that side of the ball as the Niners.
Even if they are, Johnson's got great hands and is in no way going to be ignored by Stafford, regardless of what Atlanta's defense tries to throw at them. He's the best receiver in the NFL, and that means only good things for your fantasy team, week in and week out.
Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys (vs. St. Louis Rams)
Bryant hasn't really broken out and become the kind of powerhouse wide receiver he was pegged to be this season. He's had no second-half catches in three of his five games. He was held to just four catches for 78 yards in last week's loss to the New England Patriots and he has yet to have a 100-yard game this season.
That being said, the St. Louis Rams defense is terrible. The Green Bay Packers passed on them at will last week. While the Cowboys offense isn't quite up to the level of Green Bay's, it does bode well for their chances to successfully air it out throughout Sunday's game.
Any fantasy player whose team is playing the Rams is an automatic must-start. Ignore Bryant's low production thus far and give him the start this week.
Steve Smith, Carolina Panthers (vs. Washington Redskins)
While some of Bryant's woes can be attributed to the inconsistent play of quarterback Tony Romo, the same cannot be said of Steve Smith's quarterback, Cam Newton. Newton has single-handedly revived Smith's career, with the receiver already having more receiving yards through six games than he did in the entirety of the 2010 season.
He has three games with over 150 yards, but was held to just 66 yards on five catches against the Atlanta Falcons last week. However, the Panthers host the Redskins this week, who are in serious trouble on both sides of the ball.
Not only does Carolina have a great chance to notch their second win of the season, but Smith has the odds in his favor for yet another huge day. With Newton as his quarterback, Smith should be started every week, regardless of the risks. This fantasy zombie walks among us still.
