NFL Week 7 Predictions: Which WRs Are Due For 100-Yard Receiving Days?

Zach KruseOct 20, 2011

Last time I checked, the NFL is still a league that is as aerially dominated as it ever has been. While quarterbacks are throwing it more successfully, that also implies that receivers are producing more as well.

Let's bet on that trend continuing in Week 7 of the NFL season.

These 10 receivers will make sure it happens this weekend.

Mike Wallace, Steelers

Wallace hasn't cracked 100 yards since doing it in the first three weeks, but he's still produced over 75 in the past three and is undeniably Ben Roethlisberger's favorite target. Wallace will get his receiving numbers back over 100 yards Sunday against a lousy Cardinals secondary.

Calvin Johnson, Lions

Johnson has went over 100 yards in back-to-back weeks and now faces a pair of Falcons cornerbacks (Dunta Robinson, Brent Grimes) who are under 6'. Megatron could have another field day in the vertical passing game.

Greg Jennings, Packers

After 100-yard games in Weeks 3 and 4, Jennings has gone two straight weeks with 82 yards receiving. Against a Vikings secondary he has owned in recent years, Jennings will get himself back over the century mark for the third time in 2011.

Miles Austin, Cowboys

Last week was an adjustment back into the lineup for Austin, and he still caught seven passes for 77 yards. He's back at 100 percent now, and he'll burn a Rams secondary that is starting 36-year-old Al Harris.

Marques Colston, Saints

The only thing I can see wrong in Colston's matchup with the Colts is if the Saints get up early and coast to a win in the second half. But even if that's the case, Colston should be a big part of why they are up in the first place.

Dwayne Bowe, Chiefs

The Chiefs' passing game has caught fire, and Bowe is the major reason why. He has games of 100 or more yards in three of the past four contests. The Chiefs might fall behind against Oakland early, which should give Bowe plenty of opportunities to make it four out of five.

Steve Smith, Panthers

The matchup with the Redskins isn't all that exciting for Smith, but Cam Newton is going to throw his way regardless. More often than not, Smith has turned those consistent targets into consistent production.

Pierre Garcon, Colts

Think this spot should be for Reggie Wayne? Think again. Garcon has been the primary target of quarterback Curtis Painter, who has connected with Garcon for 100 or more yards in two of his three games.

Nate Washington, Titans

Anquan Boldin and the Ravens' passing attack found holes in the Texans passing defense, and I think the Titans can do the same following their bye. You can't ignore that Washington hasn't been over 100 yards yet this season, but I think he breaks that trend this weekend.

Eric Decker, Broncos

This isn't a vote of confidence in Tim Tebow from me, but with Brandon Lloyd gone to St. Louis, Decker becomes the No. 1 receiver in Denver. And in Tebow's three starts last season, he went to his No. 1 target—who was Lloyd at the time—over and over. Decker is now that guy for Tebow in 2011.
