WWE Vengeance 2011: Why CM Punk Must Screw Triple H

T.J. McaloonOct 20, 2011

Here we go, people. It’s time to stop what you’re doing and pay attention, because a “pipe bomb” is about to be set.

What in the heck is the WWE doing pairing up CM Punk and Triple H?

When does the “straight-edge superstar” side with management? Yes, Punk and Hunter sided after HHH was fired from his spot as World Wrestling Entertainment chief operating officer, but Triple H is still married to Stephanie McMahon.

It doesn’t make any sense and should be the driving force as to why a stale Punk should turn on Hunter in their tag-team match against The Miz and R-Truth at Vengeance.

Since Punk’s dynamic promo on RAW when he called out Hunter as a “dufus” and questioned him because Hunter said that Punk “didn’t have it,” Punk has been one of the hottest superstars.

He has seen his stock rise to a new contract that was proposed by Hunter, not Vince McMahon. He’s responsible for making WWE Ice Cream Bars cool again. And during the summer, wherever Punk went he made news.

But since he’s come back, Punk has gotten himself into a rut.

Sure, he’s picked a fight with Hunter and Kevin Nash, when Nash was an active member on the roster. That program was good, because it brought some great possibilities, as was the Kiliq coming back: would Punk form the “Second City Saints” with Colt Cabana, and would this be a big blow off feud at Survivor Series?

But Nash wasn’t able to wrestle, and the match was a great brawl between Hunter and Punk at Night of Champions.

However, after that, Punk got himself into the WWE Title match at Hell in a Cell, which saw him take the pin fall.

Then, during the fallout of the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, the workers at WWE felt that they were in an unsafe work environment, which produced a walkout that CM Punk had no involvement in.

In fact, when RAW opened the week after the walkout, Punk was on management’s side, not acting as the voice of the voiceless.

So what happened to the Punk that just two months ago that was laying “pipe bombs” and having his microphone cut off during his promos?

What happened to Punk being the loose cannon, like Brian Pillman?

Punk can regain all of his momentum as the WWE heads into its biggest stretch of pay-per-views of the year, with a big turn on Triple H during their match at Vengeance.

Bring back the Punk of the summer, and maybe he can bring back wrestling buddies, with the CM Punk version to go with Macho Man, Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan.
