Week 7 Fantasy Football Rankings: Arian Foster and 5 Players Sure to Flop

Kyle VassaloOct 20, 2011

Nothing is more frustrating than watching one of your fantasy studs crumble on game day. Unfortunately it's a painful reality that sets in for some fantasy owners every Sunday.

The easiest way to avoid such a fate is to recognize who is going to completely tank this week. There are five players in particular who aren't just going to struggle, they're going to be worthless.

Here are the players who are sure to flop in Week 7.

Peyton Hillis

1 of 5

There is obviously tension between the injured Peyton Hillis and the Browns. Clearly he wants a new deal, and there was speculation that he might even be moved prior to the trade deadline.

The strained situation in Cleveland makes it impossible to have any confidence in Hillis. He had a spectacular game against the Colts, but has been held out of the end zone and under 60 yards in every other outing this season.

He's questionable, but even healthy, there is still a solid chance Montario Hardesty outscores him. To make matters worse, the Seahawks actually have a solid run defense, allowing less than 100 YPG on the ground. It's not going to be a good day for Hillis.

Ryan Torain

2 of 5

The Redskins are moving to John Beck this week, and a knee-jerk reaction by many is going to be to start Ryan Torain this week as a result. Don't.

Torain amassed a pathetic 22 yards against the Eagles' lackluster run defense point to how ineffective he's going to be against the Panthers. Torain supporters point to his outstanding game against the Rams as evidence that he's going to turn it back on.

Even if he does get the most touches in the backfield, he's going to be distractingly ineffective, not just this game but for the rest of the season.

Brandon Marshall

3 of 5

The Dolphins are falling apart. Matt Moore is the worst starting quarterback in the NFL, and the pressure Von Miller and the Broncos are going to send at him will force Brandon Marshall to be a non-factor in this game.

Miami doesn't have a run game to fall back on, and they'll be keying on Marshall all game long. His big 46-yard catch last week has people wondering, "If he can put up 109 yards against the Jets and Darrelle Revis, what's he going to do to the Broncos?"

Unfortunately, the answer is nothing. Miami doesn't want to win, and the indifferent nature in which they approach their games has the fans following suit.

Matt Ryan

4 of 5

Even though the Falcons could easily pull off the upset against the Lions, Matt Ryan is going to have a lackluster outing. The Falcons let Michael Turner take over the game last week in a 139-yard effort that included a pair of touchdowns.

Atlanta is a run-first team. When Julio Jones joined the offense, they tried to become an explosive, pass-happy offense. That just isn't them. Expect Ryan to take on a lesser role and for Turner to become the centerpiece of the offense once more.

The Lions have forced eight picks this season and have one of the most ferocious defensive lines in football. The Falcons will try to avoid crippling mistakes through the air by attacking the Lions on the ground.

Arian Foster

5 of 5

Arian Foster owners have had the most horrific season imaginable. Foster has had only one game with above a 3.5 YPC average. He's only surpassed the 70-yard mark once and has one touchdown to his name.

Foster owners suffered through the injury, but even when Foster is in the game he's been ineffective for the most part. This week will bring more of the same.

The Titans have a top-10 run defense, and Foster's struggles are nowhere near over. It's going to be a another tough weekend that leaves people wishing they had drafted Adrian Peterson when they had the chance.
