Week 7 Fantasy Football Rankings: Cam Newton and the Greatest QBs to Start

Iโ€™m not here to tell you why starting Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees is a good idea.

If you need to be told they are worth a start, you probably are struggling mightily.

Here are three QBs that you may be on the fence about starting, that need to be in your starting lineup.

Cam Newton vs. Washington Redskinsย

Newton is on the cusp of must-start-weekly mode, and this Sunday he gets a Washington defense that really struggles against mobile quarterbacks (see Vick, Mike).

Overall, the Redskins have a great unit, but the linebackers donโ€™t have the speed to keep up with a guy with Newtonโ€™s speed.

While he likely wonโ€™t be putting up another 300-yard passing day, I can see Newton having a career-high day on the groundโ€”far more valuable to a fantasy player.

Tony Romo vs. St. Louis Ramsย

Romo is beginning to lose Cowboy Nation and needs a huge game against the winless Rams to get the fans back on his side.

The Rams are the worst team in the league against the run. With a running game that has lost Felix Jones, the Cowboys are going to be throwing the ball at least 30 times a game.

Miles Austin is finally healthy, and the friendly confines of Cowboys Stadium turns out to be the remedy for Romoโ€”at least for one week.

Tim Tebow at Miami Dolphins

Tebow time is here, and expect him to get off to a quick start.

The Dolphins have one of the worst defenses in the league statistically, and it has yielded big fantasy points to almost every opposing QB.

Tebow put up two TDs, 78 passing yards and 38 rushing yards in only one half of football against one of the best defenses in the league in San Diego two weeks ago.

With two weeks of preparation and a full game to playโ€”the skyโ€™s the limit for the QB that will turn into fantasy gold for the rest of the season.
