Fantasy Football Week 7 Start'Em Sit'Em: Mark Sanchez and More Horrible Starts

Gabe ZaldivarOct 19, 2011

Not so fast. Take a moment before you start Mark Sanchez this weekend. And consider sitting some other horrible starts while you're at it.

Leave your assumptions at the door. Just because a player was great one game hardly means he will duplicate the performance in the next game.

This is the NFL, where consistency is a myth, save a few star players that will always provide dazzling results. Mark Sanchez, despite your blind fandom, is not one of those players.

This week provides the perfect storm that guarantees some players will mess up your fantasy teams royally. Heed this advice and you may just make it out of this weekend with a win.

Mark Sanchez

The Jets' star quarterback has been a great quarterback to start, save that horrible contest against the Baltimore Ravens

This week he will be resemble that effort far more than any other. Nick Mangold's return has been a blessing for the Jets, but the Chargers defense won't be.

San Diego will have Sanchez flustered all game. It's best that you sit him and save yourself the heartache.

Peyton Hillis

Except for a lone game early in the season, Peyton Hillis has been a fantasy bust. The Browns running back is nursing a hamstring injury and is questionable for this weekend.

Even if he does play, his explosiveness will be gone leaving you with minimal points from the position. For the love of all that is good, stay away from him.

Shonn Greene

The Jets may have Nick Mangold back, but that has hardly made Greene the star he should be. The Jets continue to have issues with the run.

The Chargers defense won't just stifle Mark Sanchez, it will contain the Jets ground game. You should be used to sitting Greene by now, so one more week won't hurt.
