TNA Wrestling: Major Change Occurs at This Week's TNA Impact Tapings

According to The Examiner, the TNA World heavyweight championship changed hands at the impact tapings following Bound For Glory.

Kurt Angle successfully defended his title against Robert Roode this past Sunday in a match many people thought Roode would win.

Angle was noticeably hurt after the match, needing help to get to the backstage area after the match. Reports surfaced shortly after BFG that Angle would be taking some time off because of a hamstring injury.

This led TNA to make the decision to have him drop the belt. During the tapings Sting was put in charge of impacts day to day operations. He was going to make rematch between Roode and Angle protested saying Roode only earned one shot.

Sting instead made the match between Angle and Roode's Beer Money partner James Storm. Storm has been in TNA for years and I believe this is his first world title match.

Storm won the match quickly as Angle was arguing with the ref and turned right around into a super-kick from the cowboy.

Storm's hand was raised and he was declared the new champion of TNA. Roode came out and celebrated with him.

This will come as a shock to many people as it did not seem that Storm was in line for a major singles push, which worries me.

I get the feeling that Storm winning the title will be the catalyst for the breakup of Beer Money. They are TNA's best tag team by many accounts and having them break up could be a huge mistake.

That may not be the route they go though. They could always feud over the title while remaining friends like many people have in the past.
