Manny Pacquiao: Boxer Won't Let Judges Decide Outcome of Marquez Fight

Pacquiao is sick and tired of doubters thinking that his fights with Juan Manuel Marquez could have gone the other way.

The two men drew in 2004 and in 2008, when Pacquiao won by a single point in a split decision.

These bitter rivals are set to engage in the ring once more on Nov. 12. Pacquiao is determined to knock out Marquez and prove that he is unequivocally the best boxer on the face of the earth.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. will of course dispute the validity of that statement, but we’ll save that conversation for another time.

Pacquiao is training ridiculously hard in the months leading up to the fight. This late in the game, that approach is either going to pay off or backfire.

Renowned boxing trainer Freddie Roach is once again working with Pacquiao to get him ready for this bout.

"We're way ahead of where we usually are, like 75-80% of where we should be by fight night," Roach said. "We're usually around 50% right now. I have to make sure we don't overdo it."

The Philippine boxing king didn’t seem too worried about it.

"I'm focusing on my strength and speed," Pacquiao said. "They're watching my body, so I don't become too big. I control my training, step by step, until the time comes to fight. I want to be gradual in my training."

The best quote of the day goes to the conditioning coach in Pacquiao’s corner.

Alex Ariza said, "I think he just wants to kill Marquez.”

While I hope that Pacquiao doesn’t literally kill his opponent, it would be nice for him to get a clean knockout and end any talk that Marquez could be equal to him. 

It'll also be nice to not have any controversy stem from the judges decision, which has happened in the previous two fights.

Once he overcomes Marquez, perhaps he could call Mayweather up and arrange the only fight we all really want to see at this juncture anyway.
