Week 7 Waiver Wire: James Jones, Tim Tebow and More Bargain Players To Start

Gabe ZaldivarOct 18, 2011

That sick feeling you have is knowing that you have days to scramble to fill out half your roster as the bye week steals your stars away. There is no reason to fret as Tim Tebow, James Jones and others provide reasonable alternatives for your woes.

Like most fantasy owners, you are mandated to suffer through at least a couple weeks where vital players in your lineup take a vacation for a week.

That's all fine and dandy for you, but your opponent always seems to have the luxury of his stars in tow that particular weekend.

It's time to dig deep for the players of the moment that can deliver the production you are used to. There is no reason to punt the season as the players are available in most leagues.

Using Yahoo Leagues, the following players are available in more than half of the leagues out there. Here are your sure-fire ways to stay healthy through another bye week.

1. Tim Tebow: The Broncos finally get their fan favorite in a game that is perfect for him to exploit. You don't want to start Tebow every week, but this matchup is too good to pass up.

The Dolphins are playing some very bad ball at the moment, and Tebow will flourish. His run first approach is exactly what will benefit the Broncos as they continue to move the chains all game.

2. James Jones: It's tough to find a receiver promising stellar numbers on the open market. I have the feast or famine option of James Jones as the best player out there.

The Vikings have a middling pass defense that should get Jones the deep balls he loves to corral. This will be a 10 point or more game for him against the Vikings.

3. Colt McCoy: Colt McCoy has something that most waiver wire players don't, and that's consistency. The Browns QB is forever hovering around the 20 point mark.

This is a quarterback that won't dare hurt you with an awful game. Against Seattle, he should once again net near 20-plus points. That's not half bad for a deep league.
