BCS Standings 2011: Boise State and Teams with Best Shot at Going Undefeated

The BCS Ranking system is full of flaws that drive complaints every single season.

This year will be no different. There will be plenty of complaints and they will grow more and more each week.

In college football, the only way to guarantee a spot in the BCS Championship game is to finish with an unbeaten record and sometimes even going undefeated isn't good enough.

Here are three teams with the best shot at finishing the season with unbeaten records.

3. Wisconsin Badgers

The Big Ten conference is pretty competitive, but there are no teams that are even close to being on the same level as Wisconsin.

The Badgers currently have the top scoring offense in the nation averaging 50.2 points per game and the third ranked scoring defense allowing 9.7 points per game. They are dominating every opponent.

This weekend they face the No. 16 Michigan State Spartans. It will be their biggest challenge the rest of the season.

If they can take out Michigan State, not much else stands in their way.

2. Stanford Cardinal

Much like Wisconsin, Stanford is blessed by being in a conference where they really are the powerhouse.

They do have one opponent to worry about in a few weeks. If they can get by the Oregon Ducks, nobody is going to stand in their way.

Also like Wisconsin, Stanford is dominant on both sides of the ball. The rank fifth in scoring offense and fifth in scoring defense. That balance will be what gives them the edge over Oregon.

1. Boise State Broncos

Boise State faced their only difficult opponent of the season in Week 1.

Even that opponent wasn't too difficult. They took down Georgia with ease by a final score of 35-21. They have done nothing but crushed opponents since and that should continue to be the case all season.

At this point, Boise State will more than likely go undefeated. They just need to hope for the other teams to lose.

If more than three teams finish with unbeaten records, it's going to be the Broncos that get the short end of the stick.
