Absolutely Disgusting: Arsenal Fans Slaughter Eboue...

Salaar ShamsiDec 7, 2008

Last evening, Arsenal played Wigan at the Emirates Stadium. On the back of a 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, needless to say, the expectations were sky high.

Arsenal continued with Denilson on the right, it might seem foolish but the Brazilian made Arsene Wenger look like a genius, to say the least.

Emmanuel Adebayor's goal might have grabbed three points for the Gunners but Arsene Wenger and Co will know that Wigan truly gave them a run for their money.

However, watching the game—the sport hit a new 'low' with the substitution of Emmanuel Eboue.

The Ivory Coast defender turned midfielder came on in the first half for the injured Samir Nasri only to be substituted again, late in the second half.

Yes, he had a horrible game, he was pathetic, he gave the ball away too easily and he looked out of place, hence, Wenger took him off but the substitution was welcomed by a roar of approval from the Gunners' faithful which for me, was absolutely disgusting!

To humiliate your own player is absolutely disgraceful!

Emmanuel Eboue, the Ivory Coast player is truly a right-back but Bakary Sagna's presence means Arsene Wenger has converted him into more of a midfielder, he has played on the right of midfield and in the centre as a holding midfielder as well.

Yesterday, as a replacement for Nasri, he was forced to play on the left, he collided with compatriot Kolo Toure and the crowd went ballistic, making fun of their own player—mind you, there were not more than around 30 Wigan supporters so the noise surely came from the Gunners.

He completely ruined a brilliant Arsenal counter-attack setup by Fabregas but it was truly no reason for him to be degraded to such an extent.

I am not an Arsenal supporter, I'm not even an admirer of Eboue but what happened at the Emirates yesterday was disgusting, Arsenal fans blasted on of their own.

He has got to be heart-broken, he was probably traumatized and would you believe it? - He was making a return after a month, he missed nine games and instead of helping him to settle again into what is certainly, one of the toughest leagues in the world, he was quite simply slaughtered!

I'm sorry to say but the beautiful game of football has hit a new low!
