I Tip My Hat To...

Manny Pacquiao!

What a spectacular win by the filipino superstar. Moving up and not just winning but shutting out and stopping the Golden Boy. I wanted to be the first to congratulate Manny on a wonderful win. The win seems bitter sweet for me. A fan of De la Hoya and Pacquiao both.

What I saw this night was not really a good fight but I did see something special at the same time. It was a one sided fight, a one sided battering that not even Mayweather, Mosely or Hopkins put on De la Hoya in there wins against Oscar. With lightning quick punches and great movement, something I did not think he could do. Manny elevated his game tonight. Living up to his title the "Mexicutioner."

He struck as trainer Freddie Roach said he would do. He showed power, speed, and youth. I hope as his success climbs he will not find the same dislike Oscar has received for being successful. Manny Pacquiao is special, let's keep it that way.

In my last article I wrote about the curtain closing on Oscar De la Hoya but not in this fight, well I was wrong. So wrong, Manny did not only close the show he dropped the curtain on De la Hoya. I have been proved wrong but so were many others. I have posted about three articles and i've made one mistake in all three. I made choices with my heart instead of what the reality is.

As this fight got closer i began to question my choice but it was Oscar De la Hoya against the featherweight Pacquiao. How could I be wrong I said? I underestimated Manny and overestimated Oscar at this point of his career but before I go, I don't want the "I TOLD YOU SOs" to crawl out of the wood work bragging and bosting. Email me all you want but it's easy to talk trash after the fact.

Also to all the De la Hoya haters i'm sure your day has come. You will now get to brag and say Oscar was never that good anyways. To the De la Hoya hardcore fans I guess what happen is the same thing that happen to the Tyson fans. We always kept faith that we would see the 20 year old Tyson again but we never did.

We will never see the Golden Boy be golden again. With that said, Oscar made many people rich, brought fame and glory back to boxing. He made it mainstream and boxing became an event not just a fight...but today is Manny's day.

Congratulations to Manny Pacquiao for your great win
