Week 7 Fantasy Football Rankings: Carson Palmer and Quarterbacks Worth Adding
With the huge trade news that came out today, that former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer was traded to the Oakland Raiders, it launches the former Pro Bowl quarterback into a must-have fantasy football player.
Palmer instantly turns into the Oakland starter and receivers on the Raiders, like Darrius Heyward-Bey, Denarius Moore, Louis Murphy and tight end Kevin Boss, into players that you should look into adding.
Now, there will be some growing pains in the first two weeks, but their next three games are: vs. Kansas City, bye, vs. Denver and at San Diego. That’s three games that with Palmer, not only makes the Raiders big favorites in, but it also are games that Palmer can do well in.

However, Palmer isn’t the only fantasy free agent that you should give a roster spot to. There are plenty of other quarterbacks that deserve a spot on your team.
Colt McCoy, Cleveland Browns
Colt is only owned in 33 percent of Yahoo! ran fantasy football leagues, which is very surprising. Colt’s worst game of the ’11 season was a 14 point performance in Week 2, while his best game was a 19 point performance in Week 1.
After those two games, he’s had either 17 or 18 point games in those next three weeks.
That’s five games where you're not going to fall flat on your face, or will you single handily win your game. But, you're going to get a solid starter on a team that is now pass first-run second.
Give a pickup to Colt when your quarterback has a bad matchup or is on a bye week.
Matt Cassel, Kansas City Chiefs
Now, before you fly down to the comment section to kill me for putting a quarterback that has had a week where he had a minus-1 (Week 2), just listen about why Cassel has turned it around this year.
Since that minus-1 point game against Detroit, Cassel has had weeks of 16 and 33 point games. That’s three-straight games of solid play from a position that can sink your team if you miss on the position.
With bye weeks coming up for quarterbacks like Brady, Manning, Vick and Stafford, Cassel is a viable pick up as he has games against Oakland, San Diego, Miami and Denver the next four weeks.
Three quarterbacks that are available in a majority of leagues. They are all worth pickups to help as insurance policies or quarterbacks that can save you during bye weeks.
