NFL Trade Rumors: Peyton Hillis Leads Players Who May Be Moved Today
What normally is a quiet time period that comes and goes without much news or players moving from team-to-team, the NFL trade deadline has not only sparked a trade this year, but has a lot of players rumored to be on the move by the end of the deadline.
The first move of the deadline was the Denver Broncos sending Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Lloyd to the St. Louis Rams for a sixth-round draft pick that will become a fifth-round pick if Brandon catches 30 passes this year for the Rams.
But, that may not be the only move that is made today. The “rumor mill” is churning today, as Peyton Hillis leads a group of players that could find themselves on a new team by the day's end.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Again, these are all rumors from nfl.si.com, so if they turn out not to be true, don’t be upset.
Peyton Hillis: Running Back, Cleveland Browns
Coming off a career year, while making the cover of the new issue of the video game “Madden,” it’s very confusing as to why Cleveland would want to trade the running back.
But, he’s been dealing with injuries (Madden Curse?) and the Browns have seen backup Montario Hardesty emerge as a reliable starter if Hillis is moved.
Hillis left the game last week against Oakland with a hamstring injury, but returned later in the game.
Reggie Wayne/Robert Mathis: Wide Receiver/Defense End, Indianapolis Colts
This rumor was started by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, when he appeared on ESPN radio, suggesting that the Colts should deal the two players.
Tashard Choice: Running Back, Dallas Cowboys
This one came from Sunday night when calls came in from other GM’s to Jerry Jones about the running back. However, now that Cowboys’ starting running back Felix Jones is out with a high-ankle sprain, it doesn’t look like Choice will be on the move.
Chris Harris: Safety, Chicago Bears
As reported on nfl.si.com, “Harris was inactive for Sunday night’s Chicago win over Minnesota. And Monday morning, the news came down that the Bears gave Harris’ agent permission to explore trade possibilities.”
Eddie Royal: Wide Receiver, Denver Broncos
The fire sale at the Broncos facility looks to be continuing, as Royal is a free agent at the end of the year and the Broncos are known for trading good talent for draft picks (See: Marshall, Brandon, Cutler, Jay and Lloyd, Brandon).
Five players with five possible new teams that they will call home by the end of today. Will any of these players make a move? History says no, as the NFL trade deadline normally has little to no trades.
But, remember these are rumors and the old saying is, “When there’s smoke, there’s fire” as with these players, there is smoke around them.
