NFL Picks Week 7: Pittsburgh Steelers and Teams To Jump on Before Vegas Adjusts

The best time to jump on a spread you like is early in the week before Vegas gets a chance to adjust the line.

Pittsburgh Steelers -3.5 @ Arizona Cardinals

The Steelers are getting healthier and are slowly but surely getting back on track after a slow start. The running game is coming together and the defense is currently the top ranked unit in the NFL.

The Cardinals, on the other hand, are reeling badly. It’s becoming clear that Kevin Kolb isn’t that great of a quarterback and the defense it littered with young and inexperienced players that are getting eaten up by every team they’ve played.

Don’t overthink this one…go with the Steelers.

Washington Redskins +1.5 @ Carolina Panthers

The Redskins may have QB issues, but they have one of the most disciplined and effective defenses in the league. They tackle well, have impressive speed and will keep the ‘Skins in virtually every game they play this year.

So why are they favored to lose to a one-win team coming off a wretched performance against the Falcons?

Cam Newton is beginning to slow down and the defense is in shambles. They are currently ranked 31st against the run, getting gauged for 140 yards a game. Washington struggled to run the ball last week, but expect them to destroy the Panthers on the ground, eating tons of clock and controlling the time of possession battle in the process.

Whether it is John Beck or Rex Grossman…the Redskins are going to win outright.

Baltimore Ravens -7.5 @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Just because they played the Steelers tough last week doesn’t mean the Jaguars are suddenly world-beaters.

QB Blaine Gabbert is barely 22 years old and is still learning the pro game, one bad throw at a time.

So you think he’ll keep a Monday night game against the ferocious Ravens defense to a touchdown or less?
