Week 7 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: 3 Pickups Guaranteed To Win Your Week

Ryan RudnanskyOct 17, 2011

We're already heading into Week 7 of the NFL season, and if you are a lazy fantasy football owner, you probably have missed out on all kinds of waiver-wire gold.

At this point of the season, pickings begin to become slim, with the surprises of 2011 largely taken.

But there are still some players out there that can boost your squad to glory and make you celebrate like San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Here are three pickups owned in less than 55 percent of Yahoo! Sports leagues that will produce plentiful points in Week 7.

3. Earnest Graham, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Remember Earnest Graham? You know, the undrafted running back out of Florida who has averaged 4.3 yards per carry throughout his career, but has really only been given one season to show his skills.

In 2007, Graham rushed 222 times for 898 yards and added 324 receiving yards. But he appeared in only 10 games the next season, and has fallen off the map since, especially since LeGarrette Blount's emergence in Tampa.

But, the 31-year-old showed he still had it in Week 6 against the New Orleans Saints when he took over for the injured Blount, rushing 17 times for 109 yards and catching a pair of passes for 22 yards.

Blount is expected to be out for at least another week, and Graham is set to face a Chicago Bears defense that is giving up 5.4 yards per carry—the worst in the NFL.

Not a bad spot play here, folks.

2. Colt McCoy, QB, Cleveland Browns

The Browns aren't doing Colt McCoy any favors. They have yet to grant him a No. 1 receiver, and they aren't exactly keeping defenses honest by refusing to give running back Peyton Hillis carries amid his contract dispute.

But, McCoy is still showing signs of being a franchise quarterback, despite all the drama surrounding him. In Week 6, McCoy tossed for 215 yards and two touchdowns against the Oakland Raiders in the Black Hole, racking up over 16 fantasy points.

In Week 7, McCoy faces a mediocre Seattle Seahawks pass defense, and I expect him to continue growing into a dependable NFL quarterback.

1. Steve Breaston, WR, Kansas City Chiefs

I've been touting Steve Breaston for a while now, but he's still owned in just 22 percent of Yahoo! Sports leagues.

Breaston not only has a solid track record with the Arizona Cardinals, he's beginning to develop some chemistry on his new team with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel.

The Chiefs started off 2011 in disastrous fashion, but they've won their last two games, with Cassel passing for 517 yards, five touchdowns and zero interceptions along the way.

It's no coincidence that the Chiefs' passing game is beginning to get back on track while Breaston heats up. Breaston scored over 17 fantasy points in Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts, and he faces an Oakland Raiders pass defense in Week 7 that has taken a step backward after the departure of top corner Nnamdi Asomugha.
