Week 7 Waiver Wire: Tim Tebow and 5 Players Worth Watching

Gabe ZaldivarOct 17, 2011

Denver Broncos are besides themselves as Tim Tebow steps in as the starting quarterback. Fantasy owners should take notice, because taking a flier on Tebow isn't such a bad idea at this point in the season.

We are deep in the season. Some of you need to plug and play a quarterback because of the annoying bye weeks, frustrating injuries or just because the guys you drafted are horrible.

Whatever the case, digging around the waiver wire is a healthy and necessary aspect of every fantasy season. Here are five guys that are your best bet in Week 7.

I have given Tim Tebow a rough time in the past, but there is no reason he shouldn't get love from some fantasy owners in his first start of the season.

1. Tim Tebow: The Denver Broncos have done their best to make the team set for Tebow time. That even meant trading star receiver Brandon Lloyd.

Tebow will get plenty of chances to run the ball as the Broncos turn the keys over to him. Vital red-zone touches will be his to handle. Against the Miami Dolphins, that is far from a bad thing. Owned in 47 Percent of Yahoo Leagues

2. Colt McCoy: Colt McCoy may not blow you away with a 30-point fantasy day, but you can hardly ask for more consistency under center.

The Seattle Seahawks offer the perfect opportunity for him to build on his near 20-point a game effort. Owned in 34 Percent of Yahoo Leagues

3. Fred Davis: Davis will get far more touches with Chris Cooley sidelined. The quarterback shuffle in Washington shouldn't affect Davis who will remain as a large target in the middle of the field. Owned in 43 Percent of Yahoo Leagues

4. Devin Hester: The Chicago Bears have been looking for a star to step up and be a consistent contributor. There is no reason left to think Hester can't be that guy. Hester should light up the Buccaneers as the Bears start to roll. Owned in 30 Percent of Yahoo Leagues

 5. Jacoby Jones: With Andre Johnson hobbled, Jacoby Jones proved that he can step up and catch vital balls. He will continue to see more targets, meaning great things for owners that are in need of points at the receiver position. Owned in 34 Percent of Yahoo Leagues
