Devin Hester Injury: Updates on Bears Star's Week 7 Status and Fantasy Value
After dominating as a receiver and a return man against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Chicago Bears star Devin Hester was held out of the fourth quarter with a chest injury.
Hester racked up five catches for 95 yards and a touchdown and added a 98-yard kickoff return to the end zone before leaving the game.
According to Rotoworld.com, Bears head coach Lovie Smith stressed on Monday that Hester's chest injury isn't too serious.

It isn't yet official as to whether or not Bears wide receiver and return man extraordinaire Devin Hester will be available this week after leaving Sunday night's game with a chest injury, but head coach Lovie Smith believes that it is just a minor injury, according to Michael C. Wright of ESPNChicago.com.
"Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith classified the chest injury suffered by Devin Hester in Sunday's 39-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings as something "we're going to put in the bumps and bruises section," a strong indication the receiver isn't likely to miss any time.
"
Tweeted Chicago Tribune reporter Brad Biggs:
It's looking like taking Hester out of the game on Sunday was more of a precautionary measure. The Bears had a 36-10 lead after three quarters and there was really no reason to keep the dynamic playmaker out on the field. San Francisco 49ers rookie head coach Jim Harbaugh made that mistake with No. 1 receiver Josh Morgan against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and now Morgan is out for the season.
In terms of fantasy impact, fantasy owners shouldn't be too worried about this. Holding Hester out of the fourth quarter was a smart move and he'll likely miss some practice time this week just to be safe.
Hester is not a very coveted receiver, anyway. He's owned in 30 percent of Yahoo! Sports leagues and is averaging just 7.40 fantasy points per game this season. Every once in a while Hester will put in a big game like he did on Sunday against the Vikings, but before he scored 21 fantasy points on Sunday he hadn't scored seven or more points in any game this season.
