Manny Pacquiao Playboy Interview: Boxer Talks Training Methods, Roosters
Manny Pacquiao has one interesting life.
Pacman is arguably the greatest pound-for-pound boxer in the world right now; he’s also actively involved in the political system of his home country the Philippines.
In his latest interview with Playboy magazine titled “In the Jungle With Manny Pacquiao" written by Kevin Cook in the November “College Issue”, he goes into detail on an assortment of topics in his personal life.
On his training regiment, he told the magazine he refrains from having sex for 21 days before a bout.
Why?
He is so focused on channeling his energies to the match; there is no time for his partner. With that sort of focus, trainer Freddie Roach says, “when a fighter wins, the couple is usually very happy that night”.
Pacman also went into detail about one of his hobbies, cock fighting:
"I like the sport. I like the roosters. It's like boxing -- the rooster has to be in shape. He has to train for the fight and he has to have so much fight in his heart.
"
We shall see if PETA will be contacting the champ anytime soon.
He also talked about being such a huge political figure in his home country and the surrounding nations. He admitted to enjoying the smells of bus fumes and spit-roasted chicken better than Vegas or New York City because “this is where I learned to be brave and fight hard”.
That’s pretty inspirational, and just another reason why Pacquiao is a throwback in today’s world of “look-at-me” athletes that are consumed with self-promotion and big contracts.
So he spoke of his sex habits around a fight, his cock fighting hobby and his love of the smells of his city.
Now that’s an interview you don’t want to miss.
