Kyle Orton Trade Rumors: Latest NFL Trade Deadline News and Analysis on QB
A week after getting demoted to second-string on the Denver Broncos' depth chart, Kyle Orton is on the cusp of getting shipped to a lower elevation.
It’s Tim Tebow time in Denver and the former Florida star has been given the keys to the kingdom for the final 11 games of the season. Orton’s days with the Broncos are numbered and what’s the point of keeping around a lame duck QB that’s in the final year of his contract?
The Sporting News reported late Sunday that Orton had informed the team he wanted to be traded.

This wasn’t exactly the most surprising story of the day.
Update: Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 6:00 p.m. EDT
It was Carson Palmer, not Kyle Orton who made the headlines during Tuesday's trade deadline. Palmer was traded to Oakland while Orton remained with the Broncos to watch Tim Tebow battle Matt Moore in Week 7's battle with the Dolphins.
Update: Monday 2:30 P.M. EST
Monday morning, Orton was furious about hearing the rumors, and the story was later pulled from the site.
Vic Lombardi of CBS 4 in Denver sent out a tweet this afternoon to clear everything up.
With the trade deadline just over 24 hours away, it now looks like Orton will remain in Denver for the duration of the season. The team that needs a QB more than any other in the league is the Oakland Raiders, otherwise known as the last team Denver would like to help out.
On top of all of the bad blood between these two franchises, the Raiders have given up almost all of their 2012 draft picks and would have little to offer the Broncos.
Miami is already waving the white flag, and their interest in acquiring Orton has cooled considerably over the past month.
At this point it looks like Orton will be stuck playing scout team for the remainder of the season, as he begins to ponder what team to sign with this offseason.
Check back for more updates as we get closer to Tuesday’s 4 P.M. EST trade deadline.
