Week 7 Waiver Wire: Stellar Fantasy RBs to Replace Injured Peyton Hillis

Donald WoodOct 17, 2011

With an injury to Peyton Hillis’ hamstring, there is concern that the Cleveland Brown running back could miss next week’s game or maybe more.

Hillis has been having a subpar season up to this point, and another injury will only further prove the truth behind the Madden Curse.

If you have Hillis in your fantasy league, these are the players you should be looking to for more points.

Marion Barber—The Chicago Bears have sown a new style of running the offense, and as much as Mike Martz hates it, there is a new appreciation of the run game.

While you shouldn’t come to expect 11 carries a game like Barber had this week against the Minnesota Vikings, you should expect Barber to be the goal-line option for the team.

If your fantasy league is heavy in touchdown points, Marian Barber could be a good fit in deeper leagues.

Montario Hardesty—The Cleveland Browns need to look no further in their pursuit of another running back to replace Hillis than back Montario Hardesty.

Hardesty’s numbers haven’t been that great in limited time with Hillis out of the lineup once already this season, but he has shown the talent necessary to break for big runs if given the chance.

Jackie Battle—The Kansas City Chiefs may have found their starting running back to replace Jamaal Charles, and it is Jackie Battle instead of Thomas Jones or Dexter McCluster.

Battle would be a one- or two-week fill-in, and you can get him for little to nothing because the Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a bye. If you have the chance, snatch Battle as a backup for Hillis for the rest of the season.
