BCS Rankings 2011: Boise State and 3 Teams Who Should Be Furious with Ranking

Tim KeeneyOct 16, 2011

The first BCS Rankings for 2011 have been released, and as always, the computers have disrespected certain teams.

There's only so much you can ask computers to do, and as always, there will be problems with the BCS.

Here's a look at three teams who can't be too happy with the first release of the 2011 BCS Rankings.

Boise State Broncos (5th)

The Broncos were probably expecting to be somewhere around this position, but the fact that they got passed by Oklahoma State, a team who BSU has been ahead of in the rankings all season, should be a little frustrating.

Boise has rolled through everyone they've faced so far this season, including a big win at Georgia, but their strength of schedule appears to be hurting them once again.

They have to feel that they belong at No. 4, but for now they'll have to settle for five.

Kansas State Wildcats (11th)

The Wildcats are undefeated and play in the very good Big-12 Conference. Yet, somehow, they are still outside of the Top 10.

Teams like Oregon and Arkansas have suffered one loss already, but they have been rewarded because those losses are against top teams.

That doesn't exactly scream fair to undefeated Wildcats.

Arizona State Sun Devils (un-ranked)

ASU suffered their second loss of the season last night, but it was against No. 10 Oregon.

Their other loss came earlier in the season against No. 23 Illinois.

The Sun Devils are still a very good football and have showed that with wins over Missouri and USC.

They are still respected in the AP Top 25, but the BCS Rankings think otherwise. Arizona State fans have to be a little disappointed to not see their school in these rankings.
