St. Louis Rams Roundup: Brandon Lloyd Trade Chatter Heating Up

David HeebOct 17, 2011

Welcome to the best source for all the St. Louis Rams news out there on the World Wide Web.

Here is the rundown for this week:

Well, the Rams lost to the Packers on Sunday.  As was reported Turf Show Times, Mike Sims-Walker was inactive for this game.

Perhaps the Rams are clearing the way for a trade with Denver that would bring WR Brandon Lloyd to St. Louis?

Time will tell.

Lloyd would be a huge addition to the Rams in 2012, when they could compete for the playoffs.  But, I bet head coach Steve Spagnuolo and and GM Billy DeVaney would both like Lloyd on the team this year, because they're both on the hot seat.

The "Lloyd to the Rams" chatter is really starting to pick up.  And, the Rams have to do something—as the St. Louis Post Dispatch points out, the team just isn't making the grade right now.

The Rams are playing better, but in the NFL, if you keep talking about moral victories, NFL will stand for "Not For Long."  These coaches will get fired, and several players will get cut.

I'll give the Rams credit.  They did play better.  They just couldn't score!

Sam Bradford summed it up best when he said, "It is something that we struggle with all year... There have been several games that we have been able to move the ball up and down and we get to the red zone, we have silly mistakes that don’t allow us to put the ball in the end zone. In this league, if you want to win, you got to score touchdowns," according to the AP.

I said the same thing after the game; there were five plays that could have changed the whole game.

Moving forward, the Rams have to deal with injuries to Sam Bradford (ankle) and Roger Saffold (ankle).  I expect that both guys will play next week.

I hope so.  I can't wait to see Bradford throwing to Brandon Lloyd.

Make the call, DeVaney.
