Michael Vick Injury: Eagles Star's Head Injuries an Ominous Sign for His Future
Michael Vick is getting his bell rung a lot this season. This trend once again conjures up comparisons of Vick to Steve Young.
Vick has been linked to Young throughout his career. They both were amazing running QBs with solid left-arm talent. Steve Young developed into the gold standard for running QBs translating success into the NFL.
However, the years of scrambling around and taking hits took a toll on Young, as he suffered numerous concussions, and those concussions cut short his career.

Vick may be headed down a similar path.
He left Sunday's game against the Redskins after scrambling and taking a blow to the head. Apparently, he did not show signs of a concussion as he returned to the field. Vick looked as good as ever upon his return. However, the hit rattled him enough that he had to leave the game.
Therein lies the problem for Vick and the Eagles. Concussions are an injury that are becoming progressively more frequent.
This is a disturbing trend for Vick and the Eagles. You combine Vick's propensity and talent for scrambling, and the horrible blocking by the Eagles' offensive line, and you get a player in Vick who is in constant risk of getting hit hard.
The Eagles need to start blocking for Vick, and Vick needs to be content to throw the ball when he can, or they are in risking of cutting his career short.
