Manny Pacquiao: Financial Issues Make a Mayweather Fight a Real Possibility
Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather is the fight every boxing fan has wanted to see for some time, and with Pacquiao facing financial problems, he may need a bout with Mayweather, even more.
According to TMZ, Pacquiao was having trouble paying his taxes and got some accountants to help him, who even let the boxer borrow money. Pacquiao never paid them back, and now they are suing him.
The amount Pacquiao is being sued for is reportedly $649,016.95.
The boxing community has long labelled Pacquiao as a good guy and someone who does things the right way, but it seems he hasn't been staying out of trouble as far as his financial situation is concerned.
With Pacquiao having money issues, a fight with Floyd Mayweather should be the boxer's first priority. Not only would the fight help Pacquiao cement his place among the elite boxers in the history of the sport, it would help him prove he's a better fighter than Mayweather.
The sport of boxing needs a Pacquiao-Mayweather for a number of reasons.
For one, it would give the sport a major bout between two fighters that people who don't even follow the sport closely, still know.
Second, the legacies of both fighters would be firmly shaped in this fight. Whomever the winner is—especially if it was by a unanimous decision—would see their boxing reputation skyrocket.
Manny Pacquiao seems to be in some financial trouble, and one great way to fix it would be to fight Floyd Mayweather in a fight for the ages.
Manny hasn't been willing to fight Mayweather for years, but now he is out of excuses.
