Michael Vick Video: Watch Eagles QB Almost Hit Cheerleader in Head After Big Run

Tim DanielsOct 16, 2011

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick broke a big run against the Washington Redskins defense and then almost kicked an extra football right into the skull of an unsuspecting cheerleader. The video is embedded above.

Vick quickly apologized and looked shaken up for a few seconds before returning to the field. He clearly meant no harm and the adrenaline clearly got the better of him following a big play.

Thankfully, no one was hurt.

The dynamic QB showed off a pretty good leg. Granted, he had a lot of momentum built up before kicking the ball, but when he did it rocketed right over the heads of several member of Washington's cheer squad at an impressive pace.

Vick's run eventually went for naught as the Eagles turned the ball over on downs. More importantly, the Eagles picked up a key road win on their long road back toward playoff contention. Vick totaled 291 yards and a touchdown.

The win moves Philadelphia to 2-4. Assuming the Eagles will need at least nine wins, maybe 10 to get into the playoffs, they'll have a mountain left to climb after the bye week. The schedule makes it possible, but there is very little room for error.

Keeping Vick healthy will be the biggest key to making it happen. He missed some time in today's game with an undisclosed injury, but returned quickly (actually right before the run in the video). His playing style makes him prone to injuries, which was the biggest reason his $100 million extension was a big risk by Philadelphia.

As for the cheerleaders, they are listed as probable for Washington's next home game.
